      I plan on using my recently earned experience with data collection in my classes in the future. I want to teach elementary school so I will most likely have to teach my students science or math of some sort. This being said, surveys and all forms of data collection can come in handy in either of these subjects. I think it is important for elementary students to do activities like the assignment we did, because it gives the students a visual representation of the numbers. Numbers can often be confusing an overwhelming for young children. However, data collection tends to eliminate some of this confusing because the students can physically see all of the data in an organized manner.     I found the blog posts based on our newsletters the most interesting. While reading other classmates blog posts about this topic, I discovered more ways to add creativity, and important information to the newsletters that I can hopefully use in the future.     ...

    I personally am not a fan of the developing concept of "flipped classrooms". I understand the idea of it and how it benefits children being able to go their own pace at home, but however there are many downsides. I think it is more beneficial to learn in class with your teacher in front of you so you can use her as a resource. When the students are learning their lessons through a podcast online, they are not able to ask their teachers questions or collaborate with their classmates during class. I do think the idea is smart in theory but I believe it would be difficult to execute in an effective manner. I also think it is important to consider that not every student has a perfect home life or access to the matters they need. For instance not all students may have access to a computer or have the family to encourage them to sign on to their class podcast.
